On Thursday December 16th Curtis and I took off at 6am heading for the hospital in Orem to get induced. About 12 hours later after the inducement was started Jace Mervin Dudley was born at 8:17PM weighing in at 8 lbs 3 ozs, and measuring 20 inches long. Jace immediately showed the entire room that he had lungs and let out a good cry. If you are wondering what he looks like, he looks just like Curtis. Not sure he got too much genetic material from mom.
We all stayed in the hospital till Saturday morning and then returned home. Jace is doing well but is a bit yellow and is having to undergo biliruben light treatment right now. We are hoping that he will recover soon because the poor boy must be tired of getting his heal poked and blood drained every day!
Mom has had her fastest recovery yet! She is still a bit tired and worries too much as always but is doing fine.
Ashton and Sage are loving the fact they have a new baby brother but are sad they cant really touch him much since he is on lights. Ashton tries to be as helpful as possible even though he is disgusted with dirty diapers, and Sage is just happy she has a baby in the house.
Finally Dad is LOVING his little baby boy like nothing else and is very willing to help out in anyway. He is very protective and loves to just hold Jace and bond.
Gosh, he really does look like Curtis.
ReplyDeleteAmen! It's not just because Curtis shaves all his hair off and is just a big baby, he really does look like curtis and he's GEORGOUS!
ReplyDeleteFunny story. McKay (my boyfriend) doesn't believe there is such a thing as a "cute baby" or "pretty baby". "They're all ugly when they're born." He says. I got Curtis's picture texts when he was born, as well as picture texts from a good friend of mine who had her baby just hours before. I showed him both babies and after looking at Jace, he said "hey, he's a cute baby! The other one, still ugly though. "
Congrats becky, you look great, as usual, EVEN after having a mini curtis.
Congrats! love you guys!
Your Christmas gift is some daffodill bulbs i saved you, wish i could have planted them for ya, but maybe we can get big Dud to do it, i've got them chilling just in case we can't do it till early spring.
CONGRATULATIONS!!! Hope all is well and that you're all managing nicely through the holidays. Now you two are outnumbered by the children (heh, heh, heh).
